REMEMBERING LILIA
"I commend the soul of Lilia to you. You formed them from the dust, and to dust they have returned. But their existence continues in eternal life. May the blessed Mary, the saints and all the angels receive them as they enter the gates of Heaven. And may Christ admit them into His beautiful garden of paradise. Cleanse all theirs sins and set them apart as Your remnants. Let them see you face to face and enjoy Your vision forever. Amen"

Join us in celebrating the life of Lilia Benavides Rodriguez. On behalf of the entire Rodriguez family, we thank you all for your prayers, support, warm thoughts, and continued messages of condolences. Please feel free to leave a message/prayer/fond memory/picture that the family can directly read at their own time.
Lilia may have been a different woman to each of us. She was kind, funny, loving, frugal, loved telling stories, sometimes dramatic but in that grandmotherly vibe. Her concerns were always her own and she did what pleased her. Though a complete person all on her own, her total completion was made by living for her husband, children (three total), her grandchildren, and even being blessed to have seen and held the newest generation (great grandchildren).
She had more names than you could remember, giving importance to her own family history and heritage, showing respect and appreciation for the tough love she grew up in. Though being one of five children and all siblings living their own lives, that “collect call” (aka international call) was always made, bringing them all closer together. We’re sure she’s next to her mother and other siblings with her departure here on earth, leaving behind the only living sibling of the five…
Lilia was known for her storytelling because you could easily see that it was in her storytelling that revealed all her collected memories; relishing them, retelling them, and keeping those lessons learned/joys and memories alive! Stories about her upbringing, siblings, husband, and especially her kids.
This of course doesn’t cover everyone’s experience of Lilia, but our hope is that your memories will bring to life the things that will fill the gaps not enclosed here to you…your favorite moments with her, things that made you laugh or even cry, and of course remembering a woman who lived a dedicatedly long and fulfilling life.
Lilia Benavides Rodriguez-daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother…we shall miss you.
